Cold extrusion connecting sleeve is a type of sleeve without internal threads. When connecting, the cold extrusion sleeve is wrapped around the two ends of the joint of two steel bars and placed in a dedicated pressure equipment. According to the specified pressure and indentation, the sleeve undergoes plastic deformation through pressure to connect the two steel bars together.
Cold extrusion sleeve connection method and measures:
1. Fixed operators and provide technical training to the operators.
Before squeezing the connection, mark the positioning mark and inspection mark on the end of the steel bar. The positioning mark indicates the position of the steel bar and the sleeve. As the steel sleeve elongates after squeezing, the positioning mark enters the joint. Therefore, an inspection mark is set to check whether the position of the steel sleeve is correct.
3. When squeezing, it is necessary to start from the indentation mark in the middle of the joint and proceed to both ends in sequence.
To improve work efficiency, in the processing plant area, the sleeve is connected to the steel bar to complete half of the extrusion head, and the other half is extruded on site. However, the semi-finished product should be erected and placed to prevent contamination inside the extrusion cylinder.
5. The cold extrusion sleeve should match the specifications of the steel bars and should not be replaced by a larger one. When the diameter of the steel bars changes, if the steel bars differ by one grade, a larger diameter sleeve can be used. If the steel bars differ by two grades, a transition section must be added. (For example, if the steel bars of some columns change from Φ 32 to Φ 40, then the sleeve is used to connect the steel bars of Φ 40- Φ 36, and then the steel bars of Φ 36- Φ 32 are connected with the sleeve of Φ 36.)
6. The pressure film for cold extrusion must be used according to the same specifications. When connecting steel bars of different diameters, corresponding pressure films should be adopted based on the diameters of the two layers of steel bars.
7. After the compression connection is completed, it should be straightened in a timely manner, and the deflection angle should be less than or equal to 4 degrees.


The construction process of cold extrusion connecting sleeve is as follows:
1) Check that the steel sleeve, steel bars, extrusion equipment, power supply, etc. must meet the construction requirements.
2) Mark with red paint at 100mm from the connected end of the steel bar.
3) Place a positioning mark at the end marked with red paint, and the distance between the positioning mark and the end of the steel bar is 1/2 of the length of the steel sleeve. Check the depth of steel bar insertion into the sleeve according to the positioning mark.
4) Insert the steel bars into the sleeve and use an extruder with a rated working pressure of 80 MPa and a rated extrusion pressure of 760 kN to press and connect the sleeve. Before squeezing, a qualified unit should be commissioned to calibrate the pressure of the oil gauge.
5) When operating the extruder, the pressure for squeezing the steel bars connected with diameter 25 should be controlled at 40 MPa, and the small diameter of the indentation should be between 37 mm and 39 mm. The indentation size should not be less than 50 mm, and 5 indentations should be made on each side as required. The indentation should be evenly distributed. When squeezing the next pass, due to reduced restraint, the pressure should be controlled to be 2 MPa to 4 MPa lower than the pressure of other indentation passes to prevent the diameter of the small indentation in the next pass from becoming smaller or exceeding the lower limit.
6) After the completion of the steel bar cold extrusion sleeve, a dedicated person will be sent to conduct quality inspection. When the inspection conditions are met, a qualified unit will be commissioned to conduct on-site random sampling inspection.
