Processing technology of steel wire head
1、 Construction equipment
Steel bar rib stripping and rolling straight thread machine, limit stop iron, thread ring gauge, torque wrench and ordinary wrench, etc.
2、 Construction preparation
1. Personnel participating in the construction of rolling straight thread joints must undergo technical training and pass the assessment before they can operate with a certificate.
2. Steel bars should be straightened before processing, and the cut end face should be perpendicular to the axis of the steel bar. If the end is bent or severely horseshoe shaped, it should be cut off, but gas cutting should not be used for cutting.
3、 Quality requirements
Please refer to the corresponding section in the "Reinforcement Cone Thread Connection Engineering" chapter of this book for the quality requirements of rib stripping and rolling straight thread steel bar connections.
4、 Construction technology
1. Process flow:
Pre connection: flat end face of steel bar → rib stripping and thread rolling → quality inspection of thread head → connection using sleeve → joint inspection;
On site connection: steel reinforcement in place → unscrew the steel reinforcement protective cap and sleeve protective cap → tighten the joint → mark → quality inspection.
2. Processing of steel wire heads:
(1) Adjust the test bar according to the required specifications of the steel bars and adjust the minimum size of the inner hole of the rolling head.
(2) Replace the expansion ring according to the specifications of the steel bars, and adjust the diameter of the rib stripping according to the specified wire processing size.
(3) Adjust the position of the rib stripping block and the rolling stroke switch to ensure that the length of the rib stripping and rolling threads meets the requirements of the thread head processing size.
3. After the processing and inspection of the steel wire heads are completed and qualified, special steel wire head protective caps or connecting sleeves should be used to protect the steel wire heads to prevent the threads from being damaged or contaminated during the movement or transportation of the steel bars.
4. When using a wrench or pipe wrench to tighten the steel bar joint, it is only necessary to reach the torque value set by the torque wrench.
5. It is best to use a desktop grinding wheel cutting machine for cutting the flat end of the steel bar.
6. Precautions for connecting steel bars:
(1) After passing the inspection, the steel wire head should be kept clean and undamaged.
(2) The specifications of the connected steel bars must be consistent with the specifications of the connecting sleeve.
(3) When connecting horizontal steel bars, they must be connected sequentially from one end to the other, and cannot be connected from both ends to the middle or from the middle to both ends.
(4) When connecting steel bars, be sure to first screw the wire head of the steel bar to be connected into the same specification connecting sleeve, and then tighten the steel bar joint with a torque wrench; Mark with red paint after the connection is formed to prevent omissions.
(5) When the torque wrench is not in use, adjust its torque value to zero to ensure its accuracy.
Construction of on-site connection of steel wire heads
When connecting steel bars, the specifications of the steel bars and sleeves must be consistent, and the threads of the steel bars and sleeves should be clean and intact.
When using pre embedded joints, the position, specifications, and quantity of the connecting sleeves should meet the design requirements. The steel bars with connecting sleeves should be securely fixed, and the exposed end of the connecting sleeve should have a protective cover.
3. The rolling straight thread joint should be constructed using a torque wrench or pipe clamp, and the two steel wire heads should be tightly pressed against each other in the middle of the sleeve. The tightening torque of the joint should comply with the provisions of Table 9-74. The accuracy of the torque wrench is ± 5%.
4. After tightening, the rolled straight thread joint should be marked, and the length of the single-sided exposed thread should not exceed 2P.
5. Select different types of sleeves and adopt different installation methods based on the location and difficulty of rotation of the steel bars to be connected.
